Welcome to 2021! I am pretty sure it will be better than last year, and that's not asking much.
Anyway, the whole virus/quarantine thing created some pretty bad habits for me. I ate too much, slept too much, and probably put on a good 15-20 pounds in the last year. I'm working on reversing that right now.
Anyway, I've always been a BIG guy. I'm tall, and from a distance (a really long distance), you may even say I have muscles. Upon further inspection you would see it is just a good layer of blubber, not muscles, but I digress . . .
Here is my point . . . I've got a good friend named Justin. He is about the nicest, most humble, and yes, best looking, guy you could ever meet. Luckily, on occasion, I've been accused of being his brother (the ugly brother), but still I have had people ask if we are brothers. Or someone would say they saw me somewhere, and it was not me, it was Justin.
My Brother From Another Mother Last week my good friend Brian stopped me in the nursery and said "I've got to tell you the funniest story!" And here it is . . . So, my good friend Brian said he and his son were at a soccer game/practice a few weeks ago. As they were leaving, they saw my other friend Justin from a distance. Justin was there for his daughters game/practice. Well my friend Brian's son Grant, who is 13 (and also one of the sweetest souls I know), saw Justin, looked at his dad and asked . . . "When did Mr. JD lose all his muscles?" I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Who knew such an innocent question from a kid could be so funny?!?!? Anyway, I mentioned this to Justin and he was happy to allow me to tell this story. Besides Justin is definitely better looking than me, and he knows it. So my New Year's Resolution is to lose the COVID 20 pounds from last year, wake up every day with the promise that it is going to be a good day, no matter what. What's yours?
