Imma DJ, I'm DJJD... dreams do come true

I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious . . . with my ambitions to be a DJ. If you remember, I have become the DJ for son's varsity basketball games. If I wasn't selling plants for a living, I know I would be involved in music somehow, probably a DJ. But that's not how life turned out. But, the word is out that I like to DJ. And somebody asked me a few weeks ago if I would like to DJ for some very special people. So, the DJ job was to DJ for Joy Prom 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church. If you don't know what Joy Prom is you are missing out! Joy Prom is a dance/prom for people with disabilities. It is a night where they can be treated like kings and queens, dance all they want, and just have a great time. I had heard of Joy Prom but had never been to one. And OH MY GOSH, I had no idea what I was missing. It was simply amazing. The joy on these people's faces was just overwhelming. They danced, laughed, and seemed to have a great time.

So, if you haven't heard of Joy Prom, now you have. Next year you should volunteer and help out. You will not be disappointed! Contact Calvary Baptist Church for more info! And if you have time, come see us as well. I know it's a little warm, but we've got some shade and some beautiful flowers!

Happy Gardening,

JD Boone

Goodbye Rachel!

If you've been out to see us any in the last two years you've probably been helped by Rachel Strickland. She started with us about two years ago and has been a wonderful employee. In August she will be transitioning to the next phase of her life at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. We wish her the best of luck. Thank you Rachel! You rock!
